True Love Demands No Payment

How Could I Not Love You?

April Lorier, Author and Encourager
How could I not love you, Lord?
You bent down and listened to me!
As long as I have breath, I will praise You.
Death had its grip on me and I saw only
Trouble and Sorrow.
Then I called out to You, remember?
I asked You to save me, and You did!

You are pure kindness, Lord -
So good, so merciful.
You protect those like me with childlike faith;
I was drowning and You reached down to save me.
Finally, I can rest because of Your love.

You saved me from death, my eyes from tears,
and my feet from stumbling so I could walk with You.
What could I ever offer to You for all You've done for me?
Your loved ones are so precious to You.
You are grieved when they are hurt.
I could never do enough to show my gratitude,
for True Love expects no payment.

Thank you Linda and Sussy, for your comments. Yes, The Psalmist spoke about a lot of things yet to come. Besides being repentant for his sins, he was also a talented military leader, musician, and quite prophetic. He's a joy to read!

Isn't God great? How amazing that David, the Psalmist, had a glimpse of the Savior, so long before His birth at Bethlehem! Perhaps that came from being "a man after God's own heart." How I long for such a heart! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!
