As weird as it may sound we knew there was a true connection when we first met, however we also knew that the situation may not be right. Many obstacles faced our way and realistically we knew this was going to be a challenge coming from different backgrounds and cultures. But we also knew that we had a great time together and truly enjoyed each other's company.
When things started to get more serious we knew that a decision had to be made so we decided to try the ultimate cliché of "let someone free and if they come back then it was meant to be."
We did just that and after several months of moving on without each other we knew that all along all we wanted was to be together. Finally, we followed our hearts. No fancy wedding and not many guests, but knowing that this was right we became husband and wife.
Four months later on Valentine's Day we decided to go on our honeymoon. Nine months later we were having a child of our own. So she is truly my valentine child. Seven years later another arrives.
Day after day he continues to show and tell me how much he loves me and I for him. Although some may think there is no such thing as true love as for us we really do believe that there must be someone for everyone.
We think about what would have happened if we did not reconnect and to us that is unthinkable because we could not imagine our lives without each other. He reminds me of this all the time and it only reinforces why I truly love this man so much.
Now sixteen years later and although at first we were hesitant to make this commitment we now realize that we are truly soul mates
I will always be grateful that we took those several months to set each other free so we could be able to see that we were truly meant to be. Happy Valentine's Day my love!

Post a CommentAww, a Valentine's child. How sweet. (I was born on my parent's first wedding anniversary.)
Mags..this was wonderful! It's good to hear that some people have found true soul mates. Things haven't quite worked out as well for myself and it seems the more people I speak with the more I hear of problems and divorces. You're both blessed to have found each other!!
