True Love's Conviction

A.M. Morgan
This time good-bye does not seem so right

Reality speaks that out of sight won't mean out of mind

Come on heart stop making a sudden move seem so irrational

Don't make a fool of me is all that I am asking you

I'll accept the price but please make this a wise sacrifice

These feet are ready to walk away but conviction is begging me to stay

Yet fear of a heartbreak repeat keeps getting in the way

And idle chatter seems to overrule all that my intuition says

Wish this was a chapter in life in which I could read ahead

I would rather it be simple but it's so much more complicated instead

It's not written in black and white or set in stone

Can't even tell if it's just Cupid leading me on

Why bother is what I say to myself

The only problem is with a different person

This is a continuous situation I will find myself in

Until I learn to accept love as its uncertain yet powerful self

Okay A.M., when he's the Right One you will know more for sure. I think. I guess this is why we write verse about stuff like this. ~~~ mike ~~~
