True Origin

Why Evolution Doesn't Add Up

Charisse Van Horn
I've been reviewing a website, "True Origin" for my homeschooling program. It focuses on Creationism vs. Evolution and has numerous resources and articles to help laymen understand these scientific and theological debates. I've been focusing on how sexual reproduction isn't advantageous for evolution. If the theory were true, that all complex life evolved from one-celled organisms, then it seems a waste of evolutionary progress to give up asexual reproduction in favor of male and female. Also, the idea that it would be easier and more beneficial for a species to not only reproduce by itself, but rather somehow create two genders to handle the reproduction process doesn't add up. It isn't simple, it isn't easy, it isn't more beneficial, and it's against the survival of the fittest theory that is the basis of evolution.

I don't believe that one-celled organisms used asexual reproduction, then evolved into complex organisms and gave up this simple method of reproduction in favor of sex. I do however believe in the Biblical account. I believe that God created male and female species and that they reproduce according to their own kind. There are some interesting things that I've observed in the Biblical/Genesis account of creation, and I am going to share them with you.

First, Genesis 1:1 states that the planet Earth was already here. It also states that it was covered with water. I can pick up my Bible, read the very first verse, in the first chapter, and my mind is blown away. Science has proved that liquid water is essential to life on earth. It is because Earth has water that complex life is here, and sustainable. And here, in my Bible, the account is that there was a planet here, covered with water- and then the creation began. What creation? Well, I believe the creation of life, as we know it today.

There is another factor that I contemplate regarding Genesis 1:1, the verse states that Earth was here, in a darkened, void form, with water on the surface. When I look at the other planets, it's interesting to note that the description is very similar to what astronomy has allowed us to see in the solar system. Other planets exist, they are void, they are without form, and a variety of them have their own basic gases covering their surfaces. Moses, wrote Genesis 1:1 by inspiration from God, between 1450 and 1410 B.C. That's a good 3.400 years ago, quite an accurate description of a lifeless, void planet without a telescope!

    Why Life's Genesis Is Unrepeatable

    B. "Spiritual happenings" are virtual reality affairs. They are feasible only for living organisms that have a culture, i.e. that have a pattern of sensings and reactions to the sensings. Genes, and therefore also genomes, are organisms and display virtual reality phenomena, therefore also multicelled organisms, like dogs and humans, display such "spiritual" phenomena.

Scientific and religious genesis and evolution

    Why Life's Genesis Is Unrepeatable

    QUOTE (HenisDov @ May 18 2007, PhysForum)
    A. If one accepts, intuitively and logically, Pasteur's observation .... We are just beginning to comprehend the nature of the raw material called Life and that the purpose of OUR life is ours to choose and develop and follow.
    Dov

I am asked, by TracerTong, two questions:

    A. Shouldn't it (life's genesis) be repeatable? Wouldn't scientists have already been able to repeat it?

    B. What about 'spiritual' happenings? Is it logical to assume only 'natural' genesis?

    My answers:

    A. Today's "scientists" are unable to "repeat it" because (1) they do not know how the first "life" arose and (2) they do not and will never know and will not be able to duplicate the environments and circumstances of genesis and (3) they do not and will never know and will never be able to repeat the environments and circumstances of post genesis evolution.

It's like someone paints a masterpiece, and signs his name on it. Then everyone gathers and praises the painting, but decides the painting must have created itself (because the artist is out of town and they can't see him). So they hang the painting up and start worshiping it (because it is a mystical, magical painting that created itself) and they never give the artist any credit. Now, in this scenario, who is the fool? Those who believe that the painting created itself, or those who believe that there was an artist who created the painting?

The earth is not evolving into a better state- no creature, no human, not the plants, the ocean, the sky, the heavens. There is nothing happening on this planet showing that conditions are improving; they are deteriorating; and as the Bible says (read Revelation 21) this earth and the heaven passes away. There is only scientific evidence that this is true, not that there is a secret power at work, causing earth and the ozone to repair itself. It's going to blow up- and everyone will be judged by God.

We reproduce after our own kind because it is a law set forth by God. If evolution were true than there would be no laws, it would be chance out of chaos, but instead we have order. We do not mutate for the better, the world is not evolving for the better good, it is going to end up like the Bible says- the sun is going to turn black-(read Revelation chapter 6). The Bible says this earth is going to blow up and disintegrate-science backs that up-it's called global warming. Abiogenesis and evolution theories are a moot point-

If everyone on the planet stopped having sex- the entire race would die. There is no "inanimate" force that is going to propel the human species to suddenly reproduce asexually-no human would suddenly turn into another creature in an effort to save humanity from extinction. We exist because we were created by God, we reproduce through sex and after our own kind. When life leaves the body, it's dead, it doesn't reanimate itself. There is no Abiogenesis or evolution causing species to change into other species for survival.

To believe that life can spring forth from itself- to believe that one day a rock will turn into a living creation- to believe in the theory of Abiogenesis- that lifeless matter can suddenly breathe life into itself- is the most fairy tale, like myth I've ever heard.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
