Trueblood: 2nd Season Review

Fans Thirst for Trueblood

Storm
Good news Vamp lovers, Trueblood is back for a 2nd season and I for one can't wait. June 14th can't come fast enough. I am a Vampire aficionado and have read all of the Charlaine Harris, Sookie Stackhouse novels. Over the past 10 years or so I have waited each time for the next book in the series to come out. Imagine my delight to find out that they were producing this series of books as HBO's Trueblood. Then I discovered that Alan Ball was at the helm on this series and that really excited me. I loved Alan Ball's groundbreaking series "Six Feet Under" and felt that Trueblood was no different.

For all of you that are dying for the 2nd season to start, there is very little in the way of spoilers as of yet, however it seems that the writers are going to stick fairly close to the books. So for those of you that have not read the books yet here is the list in order.

  1. Dead Until Dark
  2. Living Dead in Dallas
  3. Club Dead
  4. Dead to the World
  5. Dead as a Doornail
  6. Definitely Dead
  7. Altogether Dead
  8. From Dead to Worse
  9. Dead and Gone

Reading these should keep you prepared for what might come next in the series. I was so jazzed to hear that the series was being aired on HBO. Friends and family became addicted to the show I had to keep my mouth firmly shut as to what was happening next because I had read the book. There was great curiosity as to the dog that kept appearing at odd times and I KNEW that this was Sam. I had to tell everyone to just wait and see and that was tough because I am the "giver of secrets". So in the next month you could read the books and see how it all plays out.

For those of you that are fast becoming avid fans there is another outlet for the need for more Trueblood. Go to your search engine and put in "Last Bite Podcast" and download the podcasts .... I think there are approximately 21 episodes with an interview (s) with Charlaine Harris the author of the books. If you have an MP3 player and work out, these podcasts are fun to listen to while you are at the gym.

HBO is now running ads for his upcoming season and they are also offering a really interesting poster that is now for sale. It is $9.99 on the HBO website and I have also seen it for $8.99 on other websites. The poster is a bit gruesome and this really reflects the subject matter. This would be a good place to state that this is really fun adult entertainment but this series is not meant for kids. There is plenty of sex, violence and creative bad language.

So that's it for now folks, like you, I can't wait for the 2nd season to begin on its usual Sunday night time slot. And the countdown begins.
