Truly

Steven Jacob Borthick

It's the little things that you do
Like when you wipe away my tears
You eyes show deep meaning
And I can see how much you care.

Baby, can I have a hug?
Thank you baby... now truly, can I have a hug?

I wish I could convey to you
How much you truly mean to me
You think you know, and you do
But babe, you don't know.

You see me, I know you do.
So does everybody else- but you truly see me.

You penetrate me with your eyes
In the times I least expect
I think, "Oh crap, she's reading my mind again"
And then I think, "yes!"

I found you and you found me.
Amidst all the people around, you truly found me.

What a miracle! How could this happen?
The chances- astounding! Amazing!

A hug is simple, but a hug is truly wonderful
Seeing people is the norm, but seeing people is truly remarkable
It is nice to find people, but it is truly great to find people

It truly is the little things, you know
That show when you love someone
Not conformity or masks;
Breaking out again to say, "I love you".

Your girlfriend is a lucky woman. You also are lucky because of your description of how she really understands and sees you as you really are. Having this level of intimacy with someone else is what life is all about to me.

It brought a smile to my face to read this, because I remember when you first wrote it. I like this poem. It truly is beautiful. (Yes, that actually was intended as a bit of pun. :) )
