There is one church that has a great trunk-or-treat experience and that is Gray Hill Church of God on Bartley Road. I am a member of this church so I can tell you with much assurance that our church is a safe environment and very family oriented. The event starts at 6pm on October 31 and lasts until the last piece of candy is handed out. We have a trunk decorating contest that allows you to decorate your car and your trunk for the children and receive a ribbon for a prize. Along with the candy and the decorating of the trunks we usually have food, hamburgers or hot dogs to munch on along with chips and drinks. Never before have these been for purchase we just usually have fellowship along with the festivities for the evening. Games are also included in the evening like bobbing for apples, ring toss and many more. Our church holds a lot of kids so bring yours out to get to get to play with the other local children and enjoy a fun, wholesome filled night at Gray Hill Church of God.
A few other places around La Grange, Georgia that offer trunk -or- treating are:
1. New Community Church on 1200 South Davis Road
2. Rosemont Baptist Church on 3794 Hamilton Road
3. East Vernon Baptist Church on 2918 Roanoke Road
4. Teaver Road Baptist Church on 215 Teaver Road
I am not sure exactly what these churches festivities hold, only because I attend my churches trunk -or-treating, however I know for a fact all these churches do have their events on October 31 starting at 6pm and usually running until 9pm.
I hope you check out at least one of the above churches I mentioned; however I would really love to see new faces at Grayhill Church of God on Bartley Road in La Grange, Georgia, October 31st at 6pm!

Post a CommentDo not jump down someone's throat about posting an article on here, when in fact you didn't bother noticing when the article was even written. August 25, 2009. Correct me if I am wrong but we are in the year of 2011. Wow, a whole two years has passed since I wrote this, and I am sorry but I can not control other churches to keep their program going the same as years past.
Sorry your friends little one missed out on trick or treating, however I do not understand why you never found places to trick or treat because the subdivisions out towards Glass Bridge Rd were in full force.
On top of all that, how dare you slam people who are actually passing out your child "FREE" candy. Dum Dum suckers and penny candy is better then nothing and isn't there a life rule where morally you say to yourself "beggers can not be choosers". In my opinion that is all, but honey there is no rule that candy passer outters have to give you more expensive candy!
That is all!
I would like to address the following comment .... ".... however I know FOR A FACT all these churches DO have their events on October 31 starting at 6pm and usually running until 9pm."....Guess I should've checked for myself, or just went to the event on Bartley Rd, because 1st we went to the one @ New Community Church on 1200 South Davis Road and that one was a JOKE...not only were there like 8 THOUSAND people, but only kids who like suckers & penny candy would've enjoyed it...no good candy at all...we stayed about 10 minutes & there were so many people that the kids only got to about 5 or 6 trunks (all handing out dum-dum suckers)...so we were like well, we'll just go check out the other ones....well, we didn't try Rosemont because it was out of the way, but we DID try East Vernon Baptist Church AND Teaver Road Baptist Church..both of which were DESERTED...Teaver Rd had a sign that said enjoy the festivities on OCT 30TH..(NOT the 31st)..& East Vernon didn't have a sign at all....so...lesson learned...at least *my* son had went to a good one in Newnan on Saturday, but my friend's little girl (who is FIVE)...she only got to trick-or-treat on Monday..so I felt SOOO bad for her...we even tried driving around, but apparently, no one in LaGrange was giving out candy,, because we couldn't find ONE subdivision that had ANY trick-or-treaters out..and we were looking between 7 & 8 PM..not too late to be T-o-Ting....so finally we just went to Wal-Mart & poor little Ava had to settle with getting some strawberry ice cream. I would just like to say to the person who posted...PLEASE don't say that you "know for a FACT"..when it's pretty obvious that you didn't...if you had said I know these places are having one, but I'm not sure of the day...I would've re-checked....but, like i said..lesson learned...don't trust everything you read :(
