I can't say I blame you
I have behaved badly before
You know what I learned though?
When you say "trust me," the more
You make it impossible
When you lie or omit for peace sake
You seem to think you know
What I will think or do
If you tell me the facts, the reality
When you are not inside my head
You snatch the chance to trust from me
An opportunity forever gone
In a quest for illusive peace
It is for peace that I too say, "trust me"
So you won't feel that you have to hide
The turmoil you have on the inside
I'm asking you to trust me to trust
Trust me to trust you when it's
Difficult to tell me what I need to hear
Trust me to trust you when it's
Easier to hide the mistakes for fear
Trust me to trust you because
You love me and I love you
