Truth & Lies

Lloyd Pearson IV
The truth is right in front of you
So obvious, yet so hard to discover
The lies are here, there and everywhere
As they try to keep the truth undercover

The lies are what they tell us
The truth is rarely told
The lies lurks, hides & waits
The truth just stands there bold

The truth sometimes causes pain & hurt
The lies are always pleasant
The lies sometimes disappear
The truth is always present

The truth exist without help
The lies we have to create
The truth just speaks it's peace, then it's done
The lies want to debate.

The truth is hard to deal with
But it can make you strong
The lies try to comfort you
When someone does you wrong

The truth tells you to get over it
And life is just too short
The lies tell you to shield your heart
And helps you build a fort

The lies told you "Sure, Its love!"
While they hid behind a mask
The truth told you "When you find love,
You will know. You won't even have to ask."

The truth is what you need
The lies are what you want
The truth just keeps it real
The lies have to front

The lies look so appealing
The truth just looks so plain
The lies need all sunny days
The truth can stand the rain

The lies are always hiding something
The truth has no shame
The truth already knows its identity
The lies need a name

The lies are like stones & rocks
The truth's a precious gem
The lies come in varieties of every type
The truth, well there's only one of them

My gift is bigger than writing. Writing is just one of the ways I can express my gift.I've only been writing for less than a year, but I have always been a free thinker. I website for networking with poets....  View profile

The truth CAN stand the rain but sometimes surely comes close to drowning. I enjoyed the read and imagery.
