Truth Therapy

Joyce Bocek
Standard psychotherapy can go on for years without resolving the real issues for which a person sought therapy in the first place.

There is a different method of therapy treatment called "kinesiology," practiced by some therapists (not many) that will get to the root of the client's real challenges quickly so they can get on with their lives. It's amazing how accurately it pinpoints the truth from fiction.

In order to protect her identity, I've used her initial only in referring to this doctor.

Dr. H states, "A client comes in with a so-called problem but the kinesiology testing says that is not the problem. Then I explore and discover the real problem. That cuts therapy to one-tenth the time and frees the person to get on with their life. It is a wonderful tool."

Dr. H has treated me using kinesiology. It's better than a lie detector. The truth is in your arm. It blew me away to find out I didn't want to make changes in my life when that's what I thought I'd been working on for years.

Here's how it works. The therapist has you extend your arm, resisting the pressure the therapist applies when a statement is made. For example, the statement might be "My name is Joyce" and since it is, my arm remains out, steady under the pressure. When a false statement is made, such as "I am 25 years old," my arm buckles. It is unable to withstand the lie.

The subconscious is at work here. Dr. H goes on to state, "Your subconscious mind has your present behaviors as its comfort zone, on auto pilot. With the use of the tools, you reprogram your subconscious mind which is a willing and obedient servant. Ninety percent of who we are is subconscious. It's very enlightening."

I'm just fascinated with the idea that I can't BS myself anymore and can experience authentic personal growth because the truth has been discovered.

"An examiner will typically use the straight-arm test (deltoid muscle) to evaluate how well the muscle will resist an externally variable force. If the muscle is capable of 'resisting' then the examiner can proceed with a second principle called therapy localization, a diagnostic scanning tool developed in 1974. This unique procedure can be used to ascertain the status of most any neuro-physiological event in the body whether that event is physical, chemical, emotional [emphasis added], or a memory [emphasis added]. If a neuro-physiological event is identified to be in deficit, then the muscle will exhibit that same deficiency manifesting as a weak muscle test. This method, when properly applied, will function as an efficient evaluation tool to guide the practitioner in determining the most appropriate therapy." http://www.kinesiology.net/sk.asp
