Truth Wins Out

Don Rothra
A lie is something that you tell
To make someone believe,
That you're on the straight and narrow,
With nothing up your sleeve.

The future has a way to prove
A lie just doesn't fit.
Continuum's like a spider web,
A lie won't fit the knit.

So tell the truth, no matter what.
You've obviously been caught.
Don't try to weasel out of it.
Your lies will be for naught.

You must remember what you said,
Each time you tell a lie.
You'll live your life in fantasy,
Until the day you die.

Some lies appear to be prettier then the truth, and I think that some people actually believe their own lies. Your poem reminds me of a show that I watch called "Psych" The shows song sings about the main character living a life of lies by faking people out, and goes: I know you know that I'm not telling the truth, but I know you know they just don't have any proof, embrace the deception, learn how to bend.......

I'd rather be hated for who I am, than be loved for who I am not. Well done!
