TruTv's World's Dumbest Commentator Tonya Harding

The third in the series of truTV's World's Dumbest is none other than Tonya Harding. She is a bit younger than her" Dumbest" cohorts are, but she has a reputation for being a bad girl as well. The first two articles revolved around men in the show. Leif Garrett and Danny Bonaduce have met their female match. Tonya gives as good as she gets.

Tonya is best known for her antics many years ago on the ice. She held information about the Nancy Kerrigan attack, which got her into hot water with the skating "Gods". She was banned for life from competing in a way she once competed fiercely. She has also been known to toss a few back and generally not take anything from anyone. She pelted one of her boyfriends with a hubcap, according to some reports. There are some redeeming qualities about Tonya, even with her rough exterior.

A Closer Look at Tonya Harding:

Work- Tonya has been a busy little bee. She spends some of her time giggling and making smart comments on 'World's Dumbest'. That is not where she stops though. She has also tried her hand at boxing, driving racecars and a host of other ventures. She is not a prissy girl, by any stretch of the imagination. She is, however, much like her male counterparts in that she is a hard worker. Okay, so she had a few rough moments. Everyone is entitled to those. I know, she has had more than just a couple rough moments, but the point is, she is a hard worker who does not limit herself to dainty little women roles. Tonya doesn't mind taking on any job a man can do.

Family- Okay, okay, so she had a loser for a husband back in the day. In fact, it appears that Tonya has the same "pick a man" smarts as I do (which means she really stinks at choosing good guys). I hope that she has found the right combination. Tonya remarried in 2010 and gave birth to a son in 2011. She thought she could not have children, but guess what? God always has some surprises hanging around. Tonya has had some rough moments in her career and personal life. She seems to be doing well now though. Here is to hoping she keeps that type of action going.

Personality: Tonya's personality has many sides. She has a great personality, from all indications, when the cameras are rolling. She has been known to have a volatile personality as well though. That isn't always a bad thing though. She does not take any junk from anyone. She stands up for herself and that has to be a good thing. It isn't likely that anyone will hurt anyone that Tonya cares about without her getting up in their face about it. In other words, if I was going to choose a friend that would have my back. Tonya would be that friend. That could be a double-edged sword. If someone were to two-face her, it would likely get ugly. Tonya is funny as all get out on World's Dumbest. It seems like every dumb clip features Tonya as one of the commentators. She laughs/giggles quite a bit. She also seems to have some of the longest comments compared to the other commentators. Even if you don't like some of the things that Tonya has done over time, you have to admit she is funny.

Bounce Back: One of the things that I love about Tonya is that she has an excellent bounce back rate. She has done some things that she shouldn't have. She doesn't let it keep her down though. Many others would have given up by now. Tonya didn't. The more people have tried to reject her, the more she gets in their face. She just doesn't allow people to reject her. That is probably why she has been able to keep such a high fan following all these years.

Charities: Tonya gives a good deal of her time to charities. She contributes to charity work in order to give back a little. That is a commendable effort. Stars, even fallen stars, do not give up their free time and their money just to get extra attention. The truth is, I had to specifically look up the charity events that Tonya, Danny and Leif participated in because that type of information doesn't immediately come up on the search results. What does come up is their antics, no matter how long ago those antics were. The first things that came up in search for Tonya Harding were things that happened nearly twenty years ago while the current charity work probably laid somewhere in the bottom of the dust bin. That is shameful, but it shows just what type of society we have. Get over it people. It is done, it is over and there is no taking it back. There comes a time to realize that one action does not make the whole of the person, it is every action mingled together that makes the whole person.

Tonya Harding wasn't nearly as "bad" as Danny Bonaduce or Leif Garrett. She has had several brushes with the law. As far as drugs and alcohol, she looks like a beginner compared to her other two cohorts. I don't personally condone the things that Tonya has done. The idea, for me, is that everyone deserves to work, everyone deserves a chance at happiness again and everyone deserves compassion. Tonya Harding seems somewhat tame when you compare her to others on the show. I know that is saying a lot because she hasn't exactly been an innocent bystander, but, hey, we are all entitled to do dumb things every now and then.
