TRX Suspension Training System Delivers on Fitness Promises

Chris G.
I recently purchased the TRX suspension training system. I was intrigued by its simple design, use and portable functionality. I was somewhat skeptical about what kind of workout it would give me, though.

I'm happy to report that the TRX is everything it was touted to be on the Fitness Anywhere web site. After just a few exercises, my body was shaking with exhaustion.

The TRX is basically a heavy strap with adjustable length settings and handles. Instead of pulleys and weights the user performs exercises using their own body weight and different angles. The steeper the angle is the harder the exercise. This means the TRX system is endlessly adjustable to match your level of fitness.

I purchased the TRX system with the all body express workout DVD. The DVD is informative and answers all the set up and use instructions for the suspension system. The exercises look easy until you try them. There are 12 exercises, which take about a half hour to complete. By the end of the first session, I was dripping with sweat and my whole body was shaking with fatigue.

Watching Michelle go through the exercises on the DVD with little or no problem makes you realize how incredibly strong she is...or how incredibly weak you are.

I have been doing the exercises for about 2 weeks now, and have seen and felt changes in my fitness level. Since it's a whole body workout, I allow a day of recovery between each session. I am able to do the exercises much easier now, and can feel that I am gaining core strength. I am also increasing my heart rate and breathing while doing the exercises, so I'm getting a good cardiovascular workout as well...an added bonus.

The greatest feature of the TRX training system though, is its functionality. When it's all packed up in its mesh bag, it is no bigger than a small lunch sack. I'm able to set it up in my office while I'm at work. I don't have time to go to the gym so this system is perfect for me. Literally, from set up to workout complete, takes no more than a half hour. There's no time wasted getting to and from the gym, waiting for free machines, idle chit chat etc. Just set it up and go.

The 12 exercises are designed for a full body workout in a short amount of time. The progression is well thought out and really delivers. These 12 exercises are only the tip of the iceberg, however. There are over 250 exercises possible using this simple strap system.

I have perused their website extensively and they cover some of the other exercises. I've tried a few of them and they are intensely challenging. I can't wait to progress to the next level in order to perform all the exercises.

The TRX suspension training system with the all body express DVD and wall chart costs 150$. The price seemed steep to me at first. After all were talking about a couple of straps, cam buckles and a carabiner. I also purchased the door anchor, which is essential to using the system with my office door. This costs 20 bucks.

The minute I used the system though, I realized what a bargain this system really is. I will never have another gym membership, or have to buy a bunch of free weights. All I need for total body fitness is the TRX system.

I am in no way affiliated with Fitness Anywhere. This system gets an A plus from me.
