Try This Cracked Screen Computer Prank

While recently browsing break.com for funny videos, I came across one of the best computer pranks I've ever found. A college guy placed an image of a cracked LCD screen on his buddy's computer, and he secretly filmed his reaction. I had to check out Google images for myself to see if I thought this funny computer prank would really work, and I couldn't wait to try it on my husband. Although I like playing harmless tricks on people, I'm not usually very good at pulling off pranks, but this one actually worked. The following provides details on what happened when I played this computer prank on my husband as well as details on how you can play this computer prank on someone who deserves to be tricked!

Although many people won't find this computer prank hilariously funny, it's a good way to get revenge on someone who is a perpetrator of pranks. Take a look at this funny cracked screen prank for yourself. The cracked screen looks real enough to fool anyone! The prank fooled a college guy in the video, and it definitely fooled my husband into believing we had a serious computer and/or screen problem.

Finding and Using the Cracked Screen Image

Go to Google and search images using the terms cracked computer screen. Click on the first link that appears on the list and view it as a full-size image. Save the image to the computer, and set the cracked computer screen image as the wallpaper background.

Next, remove the icons from the desktop by right clicking on the desktop wallpaper and removing the check mark next to show desktop icons in the view category. At this point, nothing should be on the screen but the task bar along the bottom. Hide the task bar and you'll have a beautifully cracked and totally screwed up LCD screen! Now you're almost ready to pull off this funny computer prank.

To make this funny prank completely believable, unplug the mouse and the keyboard shortly before the victim enters the room. When they try to change the screen, absolutely nothing will work. Get ready for sweet revenge!

My Husband's Reaction

Moments before my husband walked in the door, I unplugged the keyboard and the mouse. He glanced over at the seemingly cracked screen and immediately back at me since he naturally suspected I was up to no good. I'm a prankster at heart, and he knows I love playing tricks on people. I told him I had no idea what was wrong with our computer that suddenly appeared to have a cracked and totally messed up screen, and my act was entirely believable.

My husband didn't say much, but he immediately went for the mouse and tried to change the screen. I suggested pulling out the keyboard, and he tried everything short of restarting the computer. My husband has a pretty good sense of humor when it comes to pranks, but before he reached for the button to reset the monitor, and before he totally blew up, I decided to confess. Although he wasn't exactly laughing, he took this prank quite well, and I think he was more relieved than anything to know that our computer screen wasn't actually cracked!
