I need to buckle down and lose weight.
I need to change my lifestyle to lose weight.
I want to wear a bikini next summer.
I want to fit into a smaller size.
My health is suffering I have to lose weight.
If you have uttered any of these phrases then it's time to start seriously thinking about what you can do to lose weight with the New Year closing in upon us. There are diets and plans galore for your picking. You need to do a bit of research and find the plan that is going to work best for your lifestyle. Some diets are tried and true and some are new hot off the shelves. It's hard to tell which diet or weight loss plan is the best but you can look at all of the factors and go from there.
Dr. Phil McGraw's Ultimate Weight Loss Solution is a compilation of practical health and weight loss information that has been around for a long time. It is both "tried and true and hot off the shelves". It has become popular due to Dr. Phil's popularity.
His 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom include:
1) the right thinking
2) the healing feelings
3) create a no-fail environment
4) mastery over food and impulse eating
5) eat high response, high nutritional foods
6) intentional exercise
7) circle of support
Dr. Phil stresses the importance of dealing with your mental weight loss hang-ups before you tackle the actual weight loss. You need to get a handle on emotional eating and impulse eating and get yourself into a frame of mind where you are thinking positively so your self-esteem reflects your change in lifestyle. You need to understand that there is no magic pill or exercise equipment, or fad diet that will be the answer to all of your weight loss issues. Losing weight is not and should not be quick and easy. Commitment of self, a plan of action and a circle of support will be the keys to your weight loss success. Figure out the right foods, an exercise regimen that you will be able to follow and stick to, and make sure to surround yourself with people who are supportive and you will be on the road to success. The one flaw in Dr. Phil's plan is that he doesn't outline a strict exercise regimen; he states that "intentional exercise" is necessary but an actual plan is not outlined. You must be sure to be strict with including exercise or else you are apt to gain back the weight that is lost.
Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Loss Solution is not necessarily the best diet plan around but it is definitely one to consider. The thing I like about what Dr. Phil teaches is the fact that you have to be in the "right" frame of mind. Too often people go into a "diet" or "weight loss plan" without getting a handle on what has made them what they are today. Everyone has a different story but ultimately they need to realize that their goals are very much the same. People want to lose weight and people want to be healthy!
