Try the New Kraft Bistro Deluxe Pastas

It Ain't Your Grandma's Mac-n-Cheese

Did you like Macaroni and Cheese as a child? Almost everyone did. Now that you are an adult you might be looking for something more sophisticated, more gourmet, well try the new Kraft Bistro Deluxe Pastas. They are found on the same shelf as Macaroni and Cheese are, but have a better taste. I have tried all four varieties and I have to say I like all of them. My six year old daughter even likes them, and we know how picky kids can be with their foods. It comes in a 10 oz. bag and is easy to cook. They all have whole grain pastas that make it more of a stomach filler. Here are the varieties that are available.

Creamy Portobello Mushroom Pasta is Cavatappi Pasta in a creamy sauce that is made of Parmesan, Romano, and Monterey cheeses with portobello mushrooms running through it. I like mushrooms in my sauces and have to say this gets a good grade. This is a perfect side dish for a steak because of the richness of the sauce. Your taste buds will be quiet pleased.

Sundried Tomato Parmesan is Penne Pasta in a creamy Parmesan Cheese sauce paired with Sundried Tomatoes with Basil. This one is good if you are having burgers to have as a side dish. The sauce goes great with the heartiness of a burger.

Classic Cheddar is the traditional elbow pasta but with a gourmet cheddar cheese sauce. Of course this is my daughter's favorite of them. This can be a side dish for almost anything that you can imagine.

Three Cheese Italiano is elbow pasta that has a creamy three cheese sauce made of Romano, Asiago, and Parmesan Cheeses. This is good with any meat dish because of the variety of cheeses in the dish.

It only takes 10-15 minutes to cook each selection. Bistro Pasta Deluxe is defiantly not your grandma's Macaroni and Cheese that she made you as a kid, it is a step above. Each bag will feed two to three people as a side dish. I sometimes have them by themselves for me and my daughter for a small meal. I would recommend you try them before you spend money on the traditional style macaroni and cheese.

I've been wanting to try these. Those menu ideas with the steak or hamburgers don't sound very healthy though. I'd personally rather have them with a salad or a side of vegetables, since the pasta alone is very rich.
