Lorcet is a narcotic and non-narcotic medicine used to alleviate mild to severe pain. Doctors prescribe this drug based upon a patient's medical condition and therapy sessions. Unfortunately when the patient's pain becomes intense, the effects of Lorcet fade. In addition to alleviating mild to severe pain, this medicine also suppresses coughing.
Instructions on dosage of Lorcet.
Lorcet must be taken by mouth with or without meals. If a person is suffering from nausea, they should take it with food, however it won't be as effective as taking it without food. Doctors will be able to provide some alternatives in dealing with nausea. Patients who take Lorcet regularly and accidentally miss a dosage should take that dosage right away. However, if it is close to the next scheduled time to take the dosage the patient should wait until that scheduled appointed time.
Patients can become strongly addicted to this drug mentally and physically. Therefore it should only be taken as prescribed by a doctor. Patients should never take it upon themselves to increase the amount of Lorcet they should take. It should not be taken more times in a day then the doctor prescribed. Lastly, it should never be used longer than needed. For example, if the doctor says use it for 5 days, it should not be used for 6 days or more. Only doctors will adjust the dosage of Lorcet for a patient, if needed. Also, patients should not stop dosage of Lorcet until the doctor says so.
Lorcet should never be shared with anyone who is experiencing the same symptoms as the patient.
The poison control center or emergency should be contacted immediately a patient overdoses on Lorcet.
