According to Dr. Carolyn Dean M.D., N.D., author of The Magnesium Miracle, Magnesium is one of the least known but one of the most essential minerals we should be using in maintaining excellent health. After sifting through thousands of scientific studies she has come up with a list where magnesium is of therapeutic value in treating a myriad of symptoms.
Such as: Anxiety, panic attacks, asthma, depression, diabetes, fatigue, heart disease, hypertension, insomnia, tooth decay. The list is endless.
Dr. Carolyn Dean, M.D., N.D
I had originally seen Dr. Dean on a show espousing the benefits of magnesium, called "Your Health" , a program dedicated to healthy eating and living. Although I was a little skeptical at first, finding it hard to believe a mineral could do so many things, I was nevertheless interested because of the insomnia claim. I had been having some sleep issues and was searching for some kind of cure. Although I had taken vitamins before in the past, with not much luck, I had never taken minerals before. At least not that I am aware of.
Is it just me, or have you heard that much about taking minerals? Vitamins seem for some reason to take precedence over everything else.
You get what you pay for!
So I decided to do some more research on the benefits of magnesium and also to find a good brand.
To expand on this last point, I have this bias, that you get what you pay for. Everyone's heard that. In my mind I've always felt discount stores are going to carry discount products, you sacrifice purity for price. By the way, this was recently confirmed to me by a spokesperson for the company I buy my magnesium from.
the Secret Sauce...
Long story short, I found out about which brand and type of magnesium (taurate) to use through a website called www.herbalallure.comWhat struck me about this particular website was one person's experience with this product. He had some amazing results, including alleviating his symptoms of depression, anxiety and some histamine issues and as an added bonus he was enjoying the best sleep in years. I was sold! I ordered it off of Amazon and presto changeo.... I was sleeping great too! Even my restless leg syndrome was alleviated, another added benefit.
In all fairness, I should point out this person, who I do not know, was not selling the product and had nothing to do with the company. Also, I have nothing to do with any of the aforementioned websites or the company.
That's my story folks, hope magnesium works for you as well as it did for me!
