Another great way to save more at Goodwill is to shop on their sale days. Our local store has a 50-percent-off sale every other Saturday on almost all items. They also have a 50-percent-off sale once or twice a month on Tuesday for Senior citizens. This is definitely a boon for those who are hit hard by our slow economy.
The items I find at Goodwill and other Thrift Shops are usually not as 'trendy' as that of stores featuring new products. However, I have noticed they do have a lot of clothing items that are definitely in vogue. I tend to buy what I personally like, and what I feel flatters my build, personality and coloring. Receiving compliments on a dress I paid five dollars for is worth the time I spent searching through racks of dresses. The employees at these stores do not always have everything arranged according to size, so it does require extra time to find that special outfit. The employees, for the most part, are quite accommodating if one needs help or has a question.
It is not only the poor who shop at Goodwill. There are many people who shop there because they like to save their money for bigger items. In our local Goodwill store, I often find great brand-name clothing that has been cared for and is still in like-new condition. Those who buy these high-end clothes take good care of them, and probably never keep them very long.
Also, Goodwill stores have clean, well-lighted dressing rooms with full-length mirrors, where customers can try on clothes to check for fit and appearance. All the stores I have visited are kept clean and orderly throughout. This makes for comfortable and enjoyable shopping. They also have shopping carts for convenience.
Our local Goodwill store already has a good assortment of winter wear, including coats, sweaters and any other clothing you might need. So, if you're looking for a 'new' winter wardrobe, try Goodwill stores and save.

Post a CommentGoodwill is my favorite place to shop. I have gotten so many items that still had tags on them. Pricey items for a couple of bucks. Love the article.
What great advice Janet. I think you're spot on. This helps the consumer while helping others to help themselves. Nicely done. :-)
My mother-in-law has a really classy Goodwill store near her house. I get stuff like new for just a couple bucks.
Love exploring the Goodwill store for treasures at bargain prices :) Good article.
Goodwill is a great place to both donate and buy... There is no other place quite like it. And, as if those things were not enough, they create jobs for people who really need them. A fine organization - and a fine article!

More than jsut a good idea. I have an antique china cabinet from Goodwil bought 1964
I would buy more clothes there, but my size is a problem. I do buy ties and belts sometimes, as they are pretty much standard. I also buy books, and occasionally other non-clothing articles. I bought my computer desk there. "Pride is before a fall." People who think they are "special" need to take a good look at their thinking and readjust.
