Trying to Decide Who to Vote for in the 2008 Election?

It May Be an Easier Decision Than it Seems

OK, I know this isn't a topic that can just be completely simplified and put into an article, but if you read too much into things you may get bogged down with your thoughts and never get anything accomplished. This decision is not one to be taken lightly but all the confusing ads and information out there can just make it more difficult than it really is.

Here is what you have to ask yourself, What do you really believe in? There are several issues and these are the things that will tell us about the man who is going to run our country. The ads you see about this tax, that tax, he voted against this, he voted for that. Yes, for the in depth politician who has to know that stuff for the sake of his or her job it is important, but how much of this stuff do we really need to concern ourselves with? Everyone has a past and there will always be stuff coming out about high profile individuals, I say "SO WHAT". I don't care and I don't feel that it affects us to know that Obama voted against some gas tax 17 years ago.

Educate yourself of the big issues like the war, or the financial situation this country is faced with and don't forget about the pork spending that goes on, this seems to be a big issues between the two camps. Now, I could go on in specifics about this stuff but trust me, if you go out and do a little research and find out where the candidates stand you will make a better decision for yourself, and heck, you might just learn a few interesting facts along the way.

One final thought, don't get caught up in this "change" talk. The only way we can know for sure of change is when either office runs this country. I tell my wife I'm going to change all the time, it usually doesn't happen but even if it does it takes a while. Keep this in mind, of course some amount of change is needed in this country but it's the change you want that matters. OK, one more final thought, don't let people intimidate you when it comes to talking politics. Most people know about the same amount of information, of course there are always those people who pretend to know everything and the way the convince people of this is to be mean and make people feel stupid. Stand your ground and speak whats on your mind.

Good luck with the research and I hope you just get good information and make a decision that you feel will benefit this country the most.

Pork spending leaves no choice. Both Obama and McCain supported the pork spending that allowed the emergency economic stabilization package to become law. The truth is that without pork spending, Congress would have been in gridlock since the 1890's.
