Grandma Moses who loved art her entire life didn't start painting until she was in her seventies. Students learn about her amazing paintings now and will continue in the future.
Orville and Wilber Wright believed man could fly. We now depend on flight for many aspects of how we live.
George Washington Carver believed he could contribute to the south which once enslaved him. Peanut butter was one of his inventions, but there were many others that helped the south though horrible economic times.
Take the desires in your heart and start moving toward them. Get started! You don't have to be the best at something to get started. You don't even have to be qualified to get started.
Who is qualified when they start something new?
You have to start and learn along the way most of the time. This may entail getting educated in a field you know nothing about, but you can choose to continue knowing nothing or you can learn something and move forward.
What if you dive into something and it isn't what you expected? Well you have dispelled the myths you held, so you have moved forward in that respect. What if you get a degree in a subject you never end up using? Well would it have been better to sit and wait all those years wondering if you wanted to go into the field you got a degree in or are you at least better off knowing you learned tried and now need to choose something else.
You don't have to randomly try new things.
I am not advocating randomly trying new things that will leave you broke and frustrated, but I am saying take steps toward the dreams already in your heart. You will either change your dream and keep moving, or you will take all the steps necessary to achieve the goal set before you. But either way the journey must start with that first step in some direction. Sitting still will keep you right where you are.
Example of trying something new.
Let's use singing as an example. Maybe you have always loved music and have thought about grabbing a microphone and letting out a wonderful, heartwarming, melody. Well if you decide to take vocal lessons and your instructor gives you no hope for the future, you still have a choice. You can agree with the instructor and be pleased that you at least tried and move on to something else, maybe even still in the music industry or you can disagree with the instructor and continue to try your voice out on others. Either way you have moved your desire to sing forward. You have not sat still and wished with no substance.
The New King James Version of the Bible says in Proverbs 13:12 "Hopedeferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life."
Don't keep deferring the hopes you hold in your heart. Move forward! Get Started. The Lord only knows where you will end up or how you will affect the world.
