Tugging

Missy H.
A poem I wrote about someone I know

Something to say
Words tugging at her heart
If she saw him, she wouldn't
even know where to start
She loves him and thinks
that he should know
but he'll probably scoff
and make her feel low
It's already hard
for her to voice her feelings
without someone making light
of what she's revealing
What she knows for sure
is that she's in love
and that, to want someone, knowing
you can't have them is rough
She thinks no one really knows
just how bad she feels
Nobody seems to realize
that her feelings are real
She doesn't know what to do
when she feels left behind
She wonders if he really knew her
would he change his mind?
But, he doesn't seem to want to
know her or even try
to understand her
or help her figure out why
to him, she's always felt so connected
and by everything he does
or says, she is affected
He's never understood
the power that he holds
Like a house of cards
for him, she always folds
She wishes she could tell him this
but he would not understand
It's like an ocean tide rushing
over a castle made in the sand
She wants to know
everything about him
and at times she feels
like she can't deal, without him
Sometimes, she's strong
and can hold it all in
knowing she can't have him
she takes it on the chin
but other times
her heart breaks in two
and to calm herself
she doesn't know what to do
sometimes she feels
like she could split in half
other times she is
fine and can laugh
It all depends
on her outlook that day
if she just feels bad
or if she thinks she can be okay
Knowing he doesn't love her
is like being hit with a dart
but it always goes back to
words tugging at her heart

Love is a two way street. If one way doesn't meet, the connection is doomed. Excellent poem.
