Tulsa's Top Three First Date Locations

Missy Slink
Finding a first date location in Tulsa, Oklahoma doesn't have to be a huge concern. There are plenty of great locations available, from the Pedestrian Bridge across the Arkansas River to a quick movie at the Dollar Theater (located off of Memorial, by the mall area). Here are my top three recommendations for relaxed (but pleasant and unique) first date locations in Tulsa.

Cosmos Café: Recently relocated to the Peoria/Brookside District, Cosmos is the ideal location for a first date. The atmosphere of this restaurant/bar/café is both classy and relaxed, allowing you to choose for yourself whether or not you'd want to dress up for the occasion. Trendy décor and lighting fills the inside of this establishment. Both booth and tables are available for seating. The menu prices are decently affordable; I personally usually order one of their delicious appetizers (their different nacho options are especially scrumptious) or one of their dessert options (the Hershey's cobbler is a local favorite).

Shades of Brown: If you're looking for a completely relaxed environment for getting to know your date, Shades is a great location. I've watched many first dates occur in the couches and tables of Shades of Brown Coffee Shop and the chill location does a great job of putting both parties at ease. The coffee and drinks are fairly affordable/averagely prices, and their quality is exceptional. This is a great option for taking a first date if you're planning on paying for their order without going broke. Both outdoor and indoor seating are available, and if you ever lack a conversation topic the interesting wall art can be a great place to start.

Kilkenny's Irish Pub: Tulsa's is famous for this authentic Irish pub, with some tourists even making it a destination in their travel plans. Located on 15th street near the Peoria intersection, their food menus are positively delicious, with hearty meals available for regular restaurant prices. The atmosphere inside is what could be expected of such an establishment-warm, friendly, and relaxed while still special. Kilkenny's is a great option even for those who do not wish to purchase alcoholic beverages and is definitely an ideal location for a first (or second or third) date.
