In the tongue of her fathers,
she pronounced the doom of crusaders
invading the sanctity of her home.

Taking the form of her namesake
she exacts her vengeance.
They fall before her,
flies on a corpse,

Mere annoyances before her fury.
Stripping useless flesh
from bones they no longer need,
she claims their lives in payment
for innocents slaughtered.

For Jay, for the man he was,
for the man he would have been,
she takes her pound of flesh.
Putting Shylock to shame-
the sandstorm weeps.
