TurboTax Deluxe Software Review

We have been using TurboTax Deluxe for several years to do our taxes. Before that I did our taxes by hand and therefore checked over them several times. In fact, looking back now I laugh about the first year I used TurboTax Deluxe to do our taxes. I did them on my computer and then also by hand just to make sure they were correct! This was a huge waste of time since TurboTax is completely accurate and helped me to find deductions that I was overlooking. TurboTax Deluxe has been fantastic and has made filing my taxes easier than ever before!

TurboTax Deluxe guides your every step, asking questions and prompting you what to enter next. You will not miss anything when you use TurboTax Deluxe. If you are wondering whether or not you will be able to use the software, you will! TurboTax Deluxe explains each step and lets you know exactly when and where to enter your information.

TurboTax Deluxe helps you to maximize your deductions. This program reminds me what deductions I took last year and recalls the information needed to enter everything correctly. I like the fact that I can use the Deluxe version of TurboTax for home business deductions such as home office, mileage, and other expenses.

TurboTax Deluxe allows you to enter partial items and skip areas that you are not ready to complete and revisit later. I love this feature! You cannot do this when you do the taxes by hand - you have to complete everything in order. I can begin working on my taxes even before I receive all of the necessary documents and then go back and fill in the missing parts.

ItsDeductible is a great asset to TurboTax Deluxe. We use this to enter the items we donate to charity. ItsDeductible can be accessed for free through TurboTax Deluxe. You will choose a user id and password and then can go to the website anytime to enter your charitable donation items. It can be used throughout the year to keep up with your donations. This program gives a monetary value to the items you input and then a percentage of this is deductible. I have found that the values given are higher than I expect. ItsDeductible is a great benefit of TurboTax.

TurboTax Deluxe checks for errors in calculations and other mistakes you may have made. You do not need to worry if you entered information incorrectly because TurboTax will alert you if something seems odd. Last year the program alerted me that something may have been entered wrong and after checking, I made necessary corrections and everything was fine.

My absolute favorite feature of TurboTax Deluxe is the small box at the top of your screen that is always showing your refund amount and constantly updating the amount when changes are made. This is especially great when you enter the deductions because you can see how much of a difference each deduction makes.

You can file both your Federal and State returns on-line via TurboTax Deluxe, pay with a credit card, and receive your refund quickly.
