Once a proud bird
almost the national symbol
(if it was up to Ben Franklin)
cooked and served
golden brown all 19 pounds
with mashed potatoes
cranberry sauce
and all the fixins
now relegated to sitting in the fridge
wrapped in aluminum foil
nibbled on four or five times per day

Yeah man, 4 or 5 or 6, 7, 10, 11 times a day; interesting trivia about old Ben and the turkey. Great poem!
