How It Works?
Scanr is a service that allows you to capture an image of paper documents or white boards with the help of your phone camera and then it quickly digitalizes it. Scanr not only converts your images but, also makes them look better. Here is the how the whole process takes place.
Capturing Images: First capture an image of the document, whiteboard or anything that you want to scan, with the help of your phone camera.
Send Images To Scanr: Once you have captured the picture, send it to Scanr (send to doc@scanR.com for documents and to wb@scanR.com for whiteboards)
Receive Your Images: After some time Scanr will send the images back to you in PDF format.
If you want to use this service you will have to register first. The registration process takes only a few minutes. In order to register you will just need a valid email address. You can get a free email address from services like Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail etc. Scanr will send an activation code to your email address which you have to enter on their website in order to verify your account. After verification you can start using Scanr. One important thing that you should know is that you must have a camera of at least 1 mega pixel in order make Scanr work for you.
There are a lot of other things that you can do with Scanr. You can store all your documents and business cards in your online account for use in future. There is an easy to use search tool which you can use to search your images and documents. You can also download the data in your account to your computer if needed. You can even send images to Scanr from your mobile phone.
Conclusion
Overall, Scanr is a spectacular web-based service and it is worth checking out. It is a lot of fun to use and above of all it is free. So, check it out and I suggest that you bookmark this site because I am sure you will be needing it somewhere in the future.
