You want the new iPhone, but when reality comes in you don't have the money.
I've seen the plans for the iPhone.
AT&T charges $60/month for only 450 minutes. If your a big talker than this won't work out for you.
This will teach you how to do this without a Jail Broken iPod
Now were installing our first software that will make this work.
Connect the iPod into the computer and download and install Fring from the app store
Get It Here
Once this is done, go ahead and launch Fring
Setup this information.
1. Username
2. Password
3. SIP Server
Now there are many SIP Host out there, and you can use what ever you want, but I used Freecall
Freecall only cost about $16 for a good amount of minutes.
Visit Freecall at http://www.freecall.com/en/websignup.php
Once you signed up, and paid for minutes the following will be given to you:
1. A Username
2. A Password
3. A SIP Server
This is the information we need for Fring
Now add the Information To Fring
Now you will be able to call people though the internet using this mod.
How do you get people to call you?
You have an Out-Bound Phone Built into your iPod Touch, but not an In-Bound.
There's a free service that can give you a free In-Bound number.
They can be found at http://phone.ipkall.com/
When you sign up its going to ask for the following information:
1. SIP or IAX? (Choose SIP)
2. Area Code ( Choose from 206, 253, 360, 425 does not matter which one you pick)
3. SIP Phone number (The number you got, or usually your SIP User Name)
4. email address ( Your email address, must be valid)
5. SIP Proxy (Same as SIP Server)
6. Password ( SIP Password)
Now you can test this out, if your looking for a better microphone that is better than the iPod Touch's than visit
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ENQT1W?ie=UTF8&tag=ipodtouchmic-20
(Second Gen. iPod Touch users need the mic)
Now enjoy your new "iPhone"
Total Cost Of This Project: About $30 (With Mic)
