Introducing My Team- Turn the Page for a Friendly Competitive Race on Associated Content

Kay Balbi
Wikipedia gives this little tidbit about Bob Seger and his song Turn the Page

Turn the Page" is a song originally released by Bob Seger in 1973 on his Back in '72 album. Seger's version never made the charts, but an evocative live performance on his 1976 Live Bulletalbum became a mainstay of album-oriented rock radio stations, and still gets significant airplay to this day on classic rock stations. He revealed at his concert in Milwaukee, Wisconsin during his 2006 tour that he had written the song in a hotel room in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

"Turn the Page" is about the emotional and social ups and downs of a rock musician's life on the road, against a slow tempo and a mournful saxophone part. (Wiki)

The Turn the Page lyrics on lyrics freak go like this:

On a long and lonesome highway
East of Omaha
You can listen to the engine
Moanin' out his one note song
You can think about the woman
Or the girl you knew the night before
But your thoughts will soon be wandering
The way they always do
When you're ridin' sixteen hours
And there's nothin' much to do
And you don't feel much like ridin',
You just wish the trip was through

Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page

Well you walk into a restaurant,
Strung out from the road
And you feel the eyes upon you
As you're shakin' off the cold
You pretend it doesn't bother you
But you just want to explode

Most times you can't hear 'em talk,
Other times you can
All the same old cliches,
"Is that a woman or a man?"
And you always seem outnumbered,
You don't dare make a stand

Out there in the spotlight
You're a million miles away
Every ounce of energy
You try to give away
As the sweat pours out your body
Like the music that you play

Later in the evening
As you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers
Ringin' in your head
You smoke the day's last cigarette,
Rememberin' what she said

Writing and performing are similar. You put your heart and soul into something and you put it out there for all to see. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not so good, but it is just a day away from tomorrow. I wanted to introduce my team and then suggest that we come up with our own team song, we've got a few weeks to do it, based upon our writings and points of reference to make it original and remiscent of the writer's perspective.

So, I decided as I was thinking about our team that we might need a team song.

Here's a start but I need your help. What should we highlight, and what should we blow away?

How far can we get these writer's each day?

On a long and lonesome highway,

East of Hartford, CT

You can listen to the engine

Of these fine writer's craw

You can think about tomorrow

Or you can read

And get a laugh or two

Sometimes you might hear a joke

And other times you won't

These same old writers

Writing, going for broke

And they always need your page views

It don't matter when you got the writer's blues

Now Here we Are

The League #5 turn the page group

Now here we go, turn the page

We're gonna write another article

For you, there we go now

Go ahead, thanks again!

Turn the page
