Turn Your Patio Area into a Showpiece with a Glass Patio Table

Now that those warm summer days are upon us our thoughts turn to spending more time outdoors. Entertaining friends and family outside on the patio is something everyone enjoys doing. This makes having a patio table a must. And having a glass patio table can turn an ordinary backyard area into an elegant centerpiece.

You can find glass patio tables in all different styles and designs. There is sure to be one to suit your desires. Tables made from plastic, wood, aluminum and iron are all just some of the different types you can find to fit any budget.

Personally, I don't care for plastic, but there are many who do. Although plastic is the least expensive of all patio tables, it sorely lacks in visual appeal. It also doesn't work that well with a glass top. I would advise that if you are going to use plastic as a base then use plastic for the top as well. That way if it gets some rough use it won't break the glass and cause other damage.

Wood patio tables are another option that can work very well in the short term. The problem with wood in outdoor furniture like tables and chairs is that after 2-3 years of exposure the wood gets ruined. It loses its color and begins to look weather beaten. Wood will also expand and shrink with the weather. But, during the first 2 years it will look great.

The other option that I believe is your best one in having a patio table is iron. There are so many benefits to using iron. It will not shrink or swell, it will not lose its color or finish, and it will basically last forever. It's nearly impossible to destroy so you don't have to worry about the kids tearing it up.

You can purchase an iron patio set with a glass top that is elegantly designed with all sorts of patterns. There is just something special about a shiny black iron table with a glass top that gives off a classy appearance. Yes, an iron table will cost more than wood or plastic, but the value you get in return more than pays for it over the years. 10 years down the road you can easily repaint the surface if it needs it. The glass top can also be replaced with ease if it ever needs it.

If you are looking to get an outdoor glass patio table I would recommend an iron design. I believe you will be happy you did and you'll have many years of enjoyment out of it.
