Never rush into it- One of the biggest problems that customer often complain about is pushy sellers. No one wants to make a purchase from someone that is bullying them. Most customers that are browsing in a retail store would prefer sales associates to offer their assistance only once. If the customer has a question or needs further assistance, then the sales associate should be within reach. Business owners should operate in the same way. Constantly bombarding a customer with unwanted attention will cause a crumbling business relationship. No matter how good the relationship started, it will end up very badly.
Give them space- Some customers do not know how to tell you no. Friends and family members may be placed in this position when you are constantly trying to sell services or products to them. Allow the customer the chance to say no without thinking that this may be the end of a good business relationship. Let them know that you understand that this may not be the right time to make a purchase. Even if they do not buy anything right now, there still may be a chance for them to do so later on. Make sure that they have enough necessary information about the product or service. Allowing the potential buyer a little space can often provide some unexpected results. They are much more willing to make a purchase when you step back.
Focus your attention- Although you would love to convert all of your sluggish potential buyers into definite buyers, it is sometimes impossible to do. Find one target group and stick with it. Once you discover with group of customers have the best potential to purchase your services or products, then you can start campaigning. Spreading yourself among a vast number of target groups without focus will cause you to lose more money than you would make. Define the way you will market to this chosen customer group and you will soon notice how productive your business has become.
Customers are most likely to purchase their favorite services or products from businesses they trust. You must take the time to establish a trusting business relationship with all of your customers. Letting them know that you consider them to be individuals and not just a number. Showing concern for their opinions and interests is a great way to build a lasting business relationship. Once your customers are satisfied, they will spread the good word to anyone that will listen.
