Turning to Overseas Business Partnership to Overcome U.S. Economic Shortcomings
DAVOS Meeting Produces Business Buzz About Foreign Investment Potential
During the 2011 Davos meeting in Switzerland, 2,500 of the most successful business people in the world gathered to network and discuss the future of business. What was realized at this meeting was that definite financial improvements have been made in the United States and in other countries around the world. These improvements were illustrated by the $1.66 trillion in profits for U.S. businesses and the cash hoard of $2 trillion on 2010 balance sheets. These financial indicators suggest that money is available for investments and business developments, which all are very attractive to foreign investors.
The Davos meeting really wetted the appetite of foreign investors, and they are ready and willing to make investments in U.S. companies. This means that now is the time to develop your pitch.
Even though foreign investors are now looking more favorably on U.S. businesses, this does not mean that they will invest in just anything. They need to be shown that your business has the potential to provide them with some sort of market advantage. This means that the investment pitch that you put together will need to highlight what makes your business unique, profitable and beneficial as an investment.
If you are trying to acquire investors for a start-up company your pitch will need to also demonstrate that there is a need or a niche market for the products, services of technologies that you offer. You can demonstrate this need by profiling the holes in the current market where there is demand but not supply. You will then need to quantify the demand that already exists in the market for your products, services or technology, as well as the demand that you will be able to create with a comprehensive advertisement campaign
Pitch development can be tricky. To be effective it will need to summarize your business idea or the investment potential of your idea, it will need to be formatted to complement the business style and philosophies of the investors that you are targeting and it will need to be engaging. The length and the format of the pitch also needs to meet the requirements or preferences of the investors that you will be meeting with, which means you may need to develop multiple pitch presentations.
