Students are paired with a tutor and get individualized support that is rarely provided in the classroom. Tutoring is held on school days in the Wyckoff Gardens Community Center at 280 Wyckoff Street from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
According to Boerum Hill Association, the program started in 1997 by James Vacirca. The program is sponsored by the Gowanus Houses of the New York City Housing Authority and the Boerum Hill Association.
The program is looking for volunteers and appreciates any support whether it is in the form of supplies or a monetary donation.
