May sweeps is that time of year that all television shows pull out their best episodes, featuring well-known guest stars and create cliffhangers that leave you wanting more. This four-week television frenzy runs from April 29 until May 26, 2010. May sweeps 2010 will feature some great episodes. Listed here are five you'll want to watch. Or better yet set your DVR for a commercial-free watching experience.

May Sweeps 2010 - Glee
Glee should garner huge ratings during May sweeps when it features Neil Patrick Harris. Harris will play the role of Bryan Rage, a high school adversary of Will's. Bryan and Will were members of the Glee Club back in their high school days. Harris' character is now a board member at William McKinley High. Look for the two former rivals to battle it out when Bryan Rage makes it known he has an agenda - cutting the arts program.

May Sweeps 2010 - Grey's Anatomy
With all the hype about Katherine Heigl leaving the Grey's family, don't expect any let down from her departure. Grey's Anatomy has plans to end the season strong during May sweeps and draw in more viewers in the Fall. Demi Lovato, star of Disney Channel's Sonny with a Chance, is scheduled to appear on the ABC show during May Sweeps. Lovato will be playing a schizophrenic patient that has been admitted to Seattle Grace Hospital. Early talk has Lovato giving an impressive, possibly Emmy-award winning, performance.

Expect elaborate costumes as well as clues and revelations of what transpired in the early days of the town. Rampant rumors have been swirling around about the season finale of Vampire Diaries, which was picked up for a second season. Many have speculated about the return of Vicky Donavan (played by Kayla Ewell) but according to TV Guide, Julie Plec (the co-executive producer of Vampire Diaries) has stated, "We are not averse to bringing people back from the dead, but we would not do it with the first tragic death out of the gate. In the future, we absolutely will use those mystic tricks, but not with Vicki - as much as we loved Kayla [Ewell]. It would ruin the impact." Stay tuned, a major cliffhanger is in the works.

Although the specifics of his appearance are being kept hush-hush, I hear the Oscar winner's episode will be one of the season's last."
