TV's Villains

The idea of a great TV Villains depends upon what era you might like best. Lex Luthor of superman is an all time favorite known to many generations. Superman's intellectual enemy is good at his dastardly deeds. There is quite a list of terrible TV villains that you might think of, one being the Joker, and Cat Woman from Batman is on the list of dastardly characters always willing to satisfy their selfish wants. On a lighter note Ernest T Bass of the Andy Griffith Show did a great job of reeking havoc on the town of Mayberry. The rock throwing episode is one of the most memorable shows, always keeping the Sheriff busy.

Now getting into cartoons TV villains is really fun, Coyote of the Road Runner Show always setting traps for the Road Runner, not realizing they are in fact for him. The infamous Yosemite Sam of the Bugs Bunny Show keeps doing his best to take Bugs down, somehow being outwitted by his one tracked way of thinking. If you are of a very young age MoJo Jojo of the Power Puff Girls would be quite the villain, continuously finding ways to make the Power Puff Girls miserable.

An all time favorite villain, JR of the television show Dallas rates high on the list as villains to hate. This character played by Larry Hagman was one you watched every week and waited for him to get caught; no one was colder or more self serving. When other characters are matched against this wicked and greedy character they look like Sunday school teachers.

The Q on Star Trek the Next Generation with John de Lancie is an interesting character who snaps the human space travelers to his liking any time any where, always having a lesson. Q's strange sense of morality never seems to fit into the normal, always outside of the box.

TV's best villains are stretched over the age of television some coming from movies turned TV series, or comic book characters that just don't seem to go away; think of Sherlock Holmes that eventually became a TV show. The villain Professor Moriarty was quite the dark sided villain presented. Some of these characters are extremely colorful and even light hearted, others are dark and seedy, but all are villains. The villains in the TV shows are just characters and having nothing to do with real life so it is easy to root for a certain character type even the villain.
