There was such a noise I knew it must be my spouse
It shook our home from foundation to roof
But I knew for him to believe me I would need proof
So I put a tape in the recorder and set it to record
This occasion to lose I could not afford
So as I walked out of the room and waited for the sound
I knew there would be another snoring round
Yes, there it was the loudest I'd heard yet
This time I knew I would win the bet
For he had told me over and over again
That he never snored and I would never win
But oh the expression as that recording I played
And he was sorry that bet he had ever made
But I heard him exclaim as I walked out of the room
A payback would be coming very soon
