Planning a party for a girl who is not quite a teenager yet, but is almost there, is fun and exciting. Girls aged ranging from 10-12 years old are fondly called as "tweens" in today's society. Here are some ideas for fun and creative birthday party ideas for a girl in her tweens.

Hannah Montana Theme Tween Birthday Party

Hannah Montana is so popular among tween girls, so much that almost every girl in school wants a Hannah Montana themed birthday party. Your tween would surely love this idea, if ever she is in to Hannah. Start by purchasing ready-made Hannah Montana invitation cards. Mail them out at least a month prior to your tween's party. Then purchase matching paper plates, plastic and paper cups, spoons and forks as well as napkins from party discount stores.

Think of creative and fun activities like a "Sing-Along to Hannah's Tunes Competition" that the attendees will participate in. Another fun idea is to play famous songs by Hannah Montana and getting the kids to compete in guessing the title of each song. Create two opposing teams, get a bell or buzzer and the team who buzz or rings first gets to answer and if they are right they get 10 points, if they are not the opposing team gets to answer. Whichever team gets the highest score would win the grand prize. Ideas of prices would include a Hannah Montana shirt, or her latest CD, DVD or Hannah Montana fashion accessories.

Food and refreshment would include pizza, lots of chips and cookies, sandwiches may also be served. For drinks make fruit punch served in a table juice fountain. Keep the color girly like in pink for raspberry juice. Get a birthday cake that has a Hanna Montana figure on top to complete the theme.

Prepare lots of music that kids can dance to the tune of. Naturally, all Hannah Montana songs.

Party favors would include any accessories that can be attributed to Hannah Montana like hair pins, ribbons, head bands, notebook with Hannah Montana picture printed on the cover.

Tween Slumber Birthday Party

Another great idea for a tween birthday party is by having a slumber party. Invite your tween girl's closest friends a month ahead so that they can work the schedule out with their parents. Use a ready made invitation with a girly theme. You can also have your tween girl create an invitation on your computer to make it more unique and personal.

Activities for a Tween Slumber Party is to host sort of a "Spa Style Slumber Party". The girls will enjoy a bit of beauty pampering which may include doing their nails, facial, a bit of make up, as well as hairdo.

Since this is an "exclusive for girls" party only, your tween and her friends can enjoy a fun and private moment together through the night. Prepare simple food from pizza, sandwiches, or even spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Make a special home made birthday cake or buy a small round one that you can readily buy from the groceries. Add girly accessories to the cake to make it more creative. For the following morning, serve hotcakes and milk for breakfast.

For party favors, buy girly accessories for hair, nails and light make up appropriate for their age level like lip gloss, facial glitters, and so on.

Masquerade Tween Birthday Party

This tween birthday party idea is both fun and exciting. It gives your tween an opportunity to dress up in a costume of her choice. Create invitations made of eye mask, this can be just a piece of card stock paper which can be cut-out with scissors in a shape of eye mask, then add feathers, glitters, beads and different color. Have your tween girl write down the invitation in cursive form using her own hand writing. Send invitation a month to tow months in advanced to give the would be gusts an opportunity to prepare or choose their costume of choice.

Activities for the Masquerade Tween Birthday Party would be to do a "Murder Mystery" where the kids can go through scripts and find clues to solve the murder case that would be presented with the help of adults. Keep the Murder Mystery age appropriate to keep it fun for kids. You can also get a jumper that you can set up in the backyard for the tweens to play in.

Serve pizza, spaghetti, sandwiches and fruit punches. Serve ice cream cake as a birthday cake decorated with masks.

For party favors, choose eye masks, wands, hair accessories for girls, and age appropriate toys for boys such as toy cars, etc.

Hopefully these birthday party ideas would help you in planning for your next party for your tween girl.

My daughter%27s turning 11 in a week. She%27s had her own ideas and we%27re running with them ...A sleepover with some great activities but lots of time to chill and relax with friends. They%27ll be making their own signature perfume -I%27ve ordered gorgeous crystal perfume bottles from wrapwithus.com and we%27ll be letting each girl create her own scent. They%27ll eat pre-ordered chick fil A and play some outdoor and indoor mystery games and then settle down to watch the sisterhood of the traveling pants movie before getting into their sleeping bags and getting down to the serious business of late night chit chats...bross frequent

My daughter would gag if I forced a Hannah Montana party on her. That is an eight-year-old thing, not a ten-year-old thing. Try the sleepover, with things THEY like to do, or the almost-sleepover where they have fun but go home at a later bedtime...
