Tween Sensation "iCarly" MySpace Downloads, YouTube Karaoke, Games and More

Miranda Cosgrove of Nickelodeon's "iCarly" is on Fire

Heather de Winter
The Nickelodeon sitcom "iCarly" has only been on the air since September but it's already a smash hit with tween audiences. It pulls in ratings other sitcoms could only hope for, especially during the fickle summer months when getting active kids to stay out of the pool is impossible. The music infused iCarly juggernaut appears to be picking up young fans as the stars of Disney's "Hannah Montana" and Nick's "Zoey 101" have outgrown their squeaky clean images. So who is "iCarly" anyway?

Carly Shay is a 13 year old character being raised by her 26 year old brother while her father is deployed in the military. She and her best friend Sam decide to start an internet TV show from Carly's basement. Of course, with a wacky cast of characters, wackiness ensues. Sam and Carly's enthusiasm is infectious. Once you hear the theme song you'll surely have it in your head until your child outgrows Nickelodeon. Now, with basic knowledge in hand, it's about time you hopped on the "iCarly" hot tamale train with your kids. Check out some of these cool websites all about "iCarly" and it's star Miranda Cosgrove.

Fighting kids' boredom during summer vacation can become exhausting for grown-ups. Get in on the fun with your kids. For a fun rainy day activity, have the kids write their own song and put together some crazy costumes. You can play cinematographer to your kids and their friends. Whip up a sharp looking video on your home PC and send it in to the iCarly website. With a little luck, you might never hear the words "I'm bored," again this summer.
