Tweezing Your Eyebrows for Beginners

Shannon Frye
When it comes to tweezing eyebrows, it's growing to be somewhat painful the first time around. The more frequent you tweeze the eyebrows the less pain you will be in. It's really not as bad as you might think it will be. You can use orajel to somewhat numb the eyebrow when you pluck them. Make sure that you have good tweezers that meet at the end because it's worthless to go through the pain and not even pluck the hair. Plucking eyebrows to me is like brushing my teeth, it doesn't hurt at all.

You will want to smooth out your eyebrow. If there are a few stray hairs stick upwards you will want to use water to smooth them down. If they are still pointing upwards, grab a hold of the hair and pull it out. You do not want to have a unibrow. Make sure there are no stray hairs in the middle. If the hairs are clear than that's fine just make sure they aren't dark. The more you tweeze this area the more hair you will get so you need to be careful. If you pull out a clear hair and it grows back thicker and darker, you'll have a problem.

You want there to be a gap but not to the point where it looks as if your eyebrows are half the size. Make sure that the corner of your eye and your eyebrows meet. Do not pluck to much from the eyebrow near the space in between your eyes. Line it up with your eye using some type of piece of paper or an eyeshadow brush. Pluck a few hairs at a time because once the hair is gone you cannot place it back on. Make sure that you step back to see if everything is looking better or worse.

You will want to use the eyeshadow brush to form a diagonal line from the corner of your eye to where the end of the eyebrow should be. The end of the eyebrow should meet diagonally to the corner of your eye. You will need to pull out all of the excess hair. Once your are done with both ends of each eyebrow you will need to start getting rid of hair below your eyebrow. You will want to form a steady, smooth arch all the way across. Pull out hairs which are out of place. You can pull out a few stray hairs from the top of your bow but you wont really want to touch anything else above the brow.
