Twenty-five Females Graduate from Free Job Training Classes

CWJC Helps Women in the Arlington, Texas Area

At 7:00 p.m., May 21, 2011, twenty-five women celebrated the completion of a twelve-week, tuition-free, educational program designed to enhance personal development and job skills. Their families, friends, teachers, mentors, and the program's Board of Directors watched as each black-gowned graduate received her Certificate of Completion and a bouquet of flowers. These women positively glowed with a combination of excitement, self-confidence, and pride.

Each year, the Christian Women's Job Corps of Greater Arlington (CWJC) accepts students for semesters beginning in August and February. The number of students accepted by the program is limited due to classroom space and computer equipment. The women vary in age, background, ethnicity, education, and work experience. The acceptance process includes completion of a written application and a personal interview.

Classes taught at CWJC include Bible Study, Business Writing, Career Development, Computer Training, Personal Awareness, Health and Nutrition, Making a Great Impression, Personal Finance, Relationships, Resume Writing, Time Management, and Bookkeeping (QuickBooks).

Community Guests/Speakers enhance the program by presenting a multitude of topics including Interviewing and Communication Skills.

Women interested in attending the tuition-free fall 2011 semester will be able to submit an application in July 2011.
