TWILIGHT ANGEL

TONIGHT'S the NIGHT

Mike Sutherland
Dreams are woven into her hair . . .
And the scent of wild flower lingers there.

Where time stands still on starry nights. . .
And the heavens sing with shear delight. . .

"Oh Twilight Angel, tonight's the night---time to take your twilight flight."

And waking from a deep deep sleep and rising with a yawn. . .
She stretched out her wings and with a wink. . .
She kissed her lucky charm.

She must have slept for a thousand years . . .
According to the zZephyr wind. . .
Her favorite spirit in the sky . . .
And truest ever friend.

He lifted her up when she was down . . .
And blew her presence all around.

He protected the cloud she was sleeping on . . .
And kept her halo from falling down.

And with a teardrop in his eye---he blew her one last kiss goodbye.

"Farewell my love"

And swept his arms around her like a ghostly apparition . . .
And slowly breathed her spirit in and made her a part of him.

"I will never forget you"

And stepping off she took to flight and felt his awesome power . . .
Lift her up and set her down ever so gently on the hour.

Returning where she once had came to live her earthbound life. . .
Now a mortal, flesh and blood, she gave up wings to be a wife.

But whenever she gets lonely and feels a chill down in her soul . . .
And is haunted by a broken heart and has no place left to go. . .

The one who loves her still and always will until the end of time. . .
Will lift her up and swirl around her like a zZephyr climbs. . .

Lift her up and swirl around her. . . Hold her head up high.
Lift her up and swirl around her. . . Blow away her frown.
Lift her up and swirl around her. . . Never let her down.

But for now she remains earthbound, if only for a while. . .
That every mortal has a soul makes the zZephyr smile.

And as she walks through the garden she can feel the breeze . . .
As the Santa Anna wind stirs the Autumn leaves .

And it's a peaceful feeling to know. . .
That the wind continues to blow.

For the love they share will last forever. . .
Whenever day-and-night time come together.

And once again the heaven's sing . . .

"Oh Twilight Angel, tonight's the night. . .time to take your twilight flight."
