The information we've all been waiting for has just been announced by Volterra FM Productions in Vancouver. Rather than a mass cattle call of extras, probably to avoid the fiasco of last month's open casting call in Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Toronto and Phoenix, the New Moon Twilight Saga production team has announced a chance for one person to win a trip to the set of New Moon and appear in the film which will begin production this month in Vancouver.

Details of Twilight New Moon Extra Casting
According to the Twilight movie website you need to "Record and submit a 1 minute video by March 20th telling us why you deserve to be a part of New Moon and you could win a trip to the set and a chance to appear in the film."

The Official Rules. You Gotta Be At Least 14 Years Old.
If you're under 14 years old or your birthday is coming up, it doesn't count. You need to be at least 14 years old as of February 26th, 2009. That's the official contest rule, no getting around that. It doesn't have any age limit so Twimoms and Twigrannies can apply too!

Can I Enter From Australia or Europe? It Appears If You're From Quebec You Cannot Enter.
Canadians & Americans can enter to be a part of New Moon's extra casting. According to official contest rules, you must be a legal resident of one of the 50 United States, Washington DC or Canada excluding the Province of Quebec.

When Is the Deadline to Submit Entries?
March 20th, 2009 by 11:59 Pacific Time. That's important to remember. With the time difference, it gives you a little more time to enter if you're on the East Coast. Do not wait until the last minute to post your video. I waited until the last minute to purchase Olympics tickets for the Vancouver Olympics and the server was so jammed with other last minute procrastinators that my request ended up getting stuck. I had to wait every few minutes to resubmit. You don't want to run into the same possible trouble. Prepare your submission as soon as possible and sumbit early.

What Could Get You Disqualified
Read the contest rules extra carefully because there are rules about the video you produce that it cannot be posted elsewhere. It should only be 1 minute long.

Unusual Way to Possibly Cast For Twilight New Moon Extras
Given last month's overwhelming response to the "secret" open casting calls that were promoted on Craigslist anonymously, I'm sure the Twilight production team wanted to avoid the masses of people and make it fair for everyone to apply. Although only one prize is being offered, I wouldn't doubt that they may use the videos as a way to cast for other parts and extras as well. I think it's your best chance to also be cast as an extra in New Moon.

What You Get
This is better than any extra could ask for in that the New Moon production team will fly you to Vancouver if you're the best audition video. The catch? You must be available to come to the set of New Moon on/about May 5, 2009? No problem? Apply here.
