Stephanie Meyer first came out with Twilight in 2006 and was quickly followed by the sequel New Moon. Eclipse the third installment came out in 2007 and the final book Breaking Dawn will be out this August. Most Stephanie Meyer fans have already started their countdown to both the 4th book and the movie. What makes these books so popular? And why do these books originally meant for teens find themselves in adult's hands as well?
I have had the chance to read all three of these novels and what struck me was the simple but very vivid detail of Isabella Swan's life as it is told in Twilight. Most women young and old can relate to the painfully shy and very self conscious Bella. And all the while feeling the angst of being a teenager an even bigger issue presents itself, vampires. It is no secret that vampire, werewolf, and fairy fiction has become extremely popular. This book not only gives you the vampires you crave but also an intense relationship between Edward and Isabella the two front characters. Explaining what makes you want to turn the pages into the wee hours of the night is difficult unless you have read the book. And now not only do we have our imaginations version of this great story but we will get to see Hollywood's version this Christmas season.
The shy but quirky Isabella Swan will be played by Kristen Stewart whose played in movies such as Into the Wild and Jumper. Edward the dark and intense vampire will be played by Robert Pattinson who is likely best known for his role in Harry Potter as Cedric Diggory. The cast of this movie is not full of the most popular Hollywood stars and starlets, however the cast was chosen for their sincere ability to become these beloved characters that everyone has become so passionate about.
The sincere hope of all Twilight fans is that the movie will briefly give us the feelings that the books evoked. And of course that every book in the 4 book series is brought to the screen. This is a great read and hopefully soon to be a movie that is popular as well. As an adult I may not be doing the countdown however I will be one of the first to go see Twilight in the theater nonetheless.

I have loved getting to know the fans of this book. I live near Forks so I have seen all the teens who have traipsed here to see the "real" place where Bella lived.
Amazing.
Here I talked to some of the people in Forks who have benefited from the tourism! Really cool
