Remember how Alice Cullen loved to host parties? Take a tip from her, it's all about the decorations and ambiance. Use red and black colors and maybe white as an accent to tie in with the color scheme of the books. You can use these colors for your balloons, cups, napkins, plates and table cloth.
Make your table interesting by using lots of red and black candles in varying lengths. If you have any unique or interesting candle holders or candelabras it will make for a dramatic effect. You could then tie red ribbon around them like the cover of Eclipse. Check around your house or in your Halloween supplies to see if you have anything else that has a gothic or vampire feel to it. I found some gargoyles to put on my table that looked really neat with the rest of the set up. Remember not to focus too much on the vampire theme as it's not what the story is completely about.
Another idea for a table centerpiece is to display all of your Twilight books and the movie as well. If you have bookends or can get creative and make some, this will be a nice focal point on the table. Also you can hang up posters, shirts; whatever it is you have that is Twilight around the house. I used an art easel to display a poster of Edward and Bella in the entrance way and tied red and black balloons to it. You may also be able to buy life size cardboard cutouts of Twilight characters from Amazon or eBay.
You can also use inspiration from the book covers to decorate tables, the house or the food area. Set out baskets of apples, tie red ribbons on things and decorate with white flowers.
Remember how Alice always strung thousands of white lights at her parties? Take a cue from her and string white Christmas lights all over your house for a very Alice-y effect. Another neat idea is to drape black curtains or scarves over furniture or things you want hidden in the room. This helps the focus be only on the party and also helps to make a darker atmosphere like Forks, Washington.
If you need Twilight birthday party ideas, then you should have a very special birthday cake. Use a red velvet cake mix and you will have a cake that looks like the color of blood inside. You can use a dark frosting or a white frosting and drop red food coloring on it to look like blood drops or blood dripping. Red and black sprinkles or colored sugar will also look very pretty on the cake.
To dress up the cake even further you can use ideas from the covers of the books. Fake apples make for a good Twilight cake, white tulips (or another white flower) dipped in red for New Moon, chess pieces for Breaking Dawn and a red ribbon for Eclipse.
You can also use some colored frosting (preferably red) to write a quote from the book on your cake. Some famous quotes that are short enough for a cake are "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb" or "I dream about being with you forever". There are many more Twilight quotes that you can use as well.
If you are short on time or just aren't that creative you can order a cake topper from places like eBay, other websites, or your local bakery or grocery store. A cake topper is something that sits on top of the cake or an edible image made from edible frosting. Online you can choose from the selections they have or you can do a search for Twilight images and take it to your bakery and they will make you a cake topper or edible image. The cost for these is generally around 10 dollars or a little bit more.
Other Twilight inspired food ideas are red punch or kool-aid, ribs smothered in barbecue sauce and apples. Also in some stores you can now find Twilight candies. You can find some great Twilight recipes at http://squidoo.com/twilight-party-food
Games are always fun at parties so you might want to include Twilight trivia such as who said this line or which book is this quote from. You could have a who knows the most about twilight game and come up with questions for guests to answer. Bobbing for apples is another idea along with "pin the tail on Jacob".
Don't forget to tell everyone to wear their Twilight shirts or their vampire shirts to your party as well.
If you have any other great ideas for a Twilight theme party or birthday party, make sure to leave a comment and share your ideas. I hope you have a great Twilight party!
