Twilight & True Blood : Why We Love Our Vampires?
The Vampire World Will Never Be the Same. The Top Reasons We Love Them
It wasn't so long ago it seems that vampires were dead, hideous looking bloodsuckers, who killed innocent people, had no human emotions to speak of, didn't come out in the daylight only at night, turned into bats, and wore really long black capes.
Now vampires live in modern times and coexist with normal human people, some even go to school. They can either drink a cocktail of blood out of a bottle, or are vegetarians, hunters of only animal blood, to control their thirst. They can fall in love, some have a conscious, they bite only those that threaten the ones that they love, and they can even heal with their blood or venom. Vampires can sparkle in the sun, no longer falling to the ground in a pile of ashes, and they can have half human, half vampire children.
People are no longer afraid of them, but find them sexy and mysterious. Some will do anything to get with them, and vampires can make really great friends to humans. They can come to your rescue and even run like the wind.
Even though they don't have beating hearts they love more than most humans do and loving a human is no stranger in vampire stories anymore, Edward has his Bella, Buffy had Angel, and Bill has his Sookie. We love the romance of a human being in love with a vampire.
One constant for vampires is that they don't ever grow old, just in years , and not in appearance. They stay young forever, something we wish we could have.
The character Angel that started in Buffy the Vampire Slayer was the first incidence of a vampire having "a soul", that started a chain reaction of vampires fighting to save innocent human lives, and fighting for the greater good. It's funny how vampires have evolved from evil, bad to our heroes.
Vampires are no longer hideous creatures, but handsome in appearance with perfect skin, color changing eyes, and personalities that melt our hearts. They are passionate, protective, and fight against even their own kind.
They are not monsters, they are the opposite.
For all the vampire addicts out there, we just couldn't live without them. We get caught up in the romance of it all, and look forward to the next vampire human romance, and the next installment.
