Twilight in the Valley

Lisa R. Strong
I went to visit a friend;
She lives upon a hill;
Sharing laughs;
Over dinner and tea;
It was approaching twilight;
The sky was glorious;
I took out my camera;
While she was driving;
We could see all the lights;
From the village down below;
And from neighboring towns;
But my camera could not capture;
The beauty that we saw;
She could not stop the car;
But only slowed it down;
Most of the photos were too blurry;
But I did manage to snap two;
In spite of all of its imperfections;
I am proud of my hometown;
And I thank God everyday;
For all the natural beauty;
That surrounds my home;
That I sometimes take for granted

    Beautiful. Don't know where your town is but used to go up by Herkimer twice a year to see (ex) family. Thanks for reminding me of the beauty up north.

    Very nice and you show a wisdom in knowing not to take what is there for granted. I need to remember that as well, often get caught up in being busy. Thanks for the reminder :)
