Twilight Vampire Movie Review

Laura Hickey
In many vampire movies it's usually the expected line of at least a few necks are bitten into to drink the blood for their food. Along with not being able to go out in the sun and living with the bats. The physical looks of a vampire include pale white skin and two sharp fangs in the mouth along with dark hair.

In the newly release movie (11-21-08) Twilight, you'll see a different side to vampires. This movie showcases the love between one vampire Edward (played by Robert Pattinson) and Bella (played by Kristen Stewart). While the movie previews show an action filled fight off to save Bella from other vampires trying to have her for dinner, the movie is more about the romantic aspect.

It starts out with Bella moving to a small town where her father is a policemen due to her mother traveling with her new husband for his baseball career. Bella doesn't have complications making new friends but does when she is paired together in Biology with Edward. Frustrated by his attitude, she seeks him out and ends up falling in love with him.

Oddly enough there is some unexpected humorous parts to this movie. One example is Edward and his vampire family play baseball out in the woods. And it is indeed the game of baseball complete with the shirts. In fact, they even run into 3 evil human blood drinking vampires who insist they would like to play a game as well.

The actors playing Bella and Edward have great chemistry on screen. The fighting battle scenes are fast paced but perhaps wished there had been a bit more action. In the end, there's a message of love conquers all. Fans of action and romance would enjoy this movie. Fans of blood sucking, no end to killing rages may need to check out a different movie.
