1. AMC Roseville: This is a very nice theatre, over all. It is newer and you can tell it still has a clean fresh appearance. The staff is friendly and helpful at this theatre, and they have some great week day deals you can take advantage of. If you come to a show Monday-Thursday anytime it is just $5, they also have a great popcorn and pop deal as well you get a special size (roughly a medium) and it is unlimited refills just $5. They offer stadium seating, two digital screens, and a close caption theatre as well. With Rosedale Mall right along with it, there is a variety of restaurants and shopping close by as well.
2. Marcus Oakdale Ultra screen: This theatre is a little bit older, but they have done some renovations fairly recently and given it a nice fresh look. The staff greets you with a smile, and has a great clean crisp appearance in formal black and white uniforms. They offer Ultra view Stadium seating in all 17 of their theatres, and boast $2 Tuesdays. You can get popcorn and soft drinks for just $2. Prices are fairly reasonable matinees are $6.50 and evening shows $9.50. Some fast food restaurants are nearby, as well as Fleet farm if you want to do some shopping.
3. Omni Theatre: This is not your standard movie theatre but it is still worth checking out as they get some fantastic shows in. The Omni theatre is of course located in the Science Museum of Minnesota and is just downtown on Kellogg. The staff is the same friendly staff you find at the science museum. The perks of course are educational shows, shown on that unbeatable fully round screen. It makes your experience there truly unreal. The downside is they don't allow food or drink into the Omni. The upswing though is while your there you can go to the Science Museum too. Prices for just the Omni theatre are $7.50, if you want to see the exhibits as well its only $16.00 not bad if you want to make a day of it.
4. Mann Highland: This is a small treasure of a theatre. It was designed in 1939 and was just a single screen theatre when it opened. And while they took the balcony and made it into s second screen in the 1970's that still makes it a small theatre. But the historical way it's built, and the smallness is what makes this theatre so great. You get to enjoy the movie, and the general atmosphere. Tickets are truly a steal! $6.00 for all seats before 6pm and just $8 for shows after 6pm. The staff is great, and they have some good combo deals on all of your favorite movie goodies.
5. Riverview Theatre: This is another fun little niche theatre. They have a habit if playing everything from your big blockbusters to your little indie films that are artistic. They are guaranteed to have something for everyone, and located in Minneapolis there is a great choice of restaurants around them to choose for your night out. They boast high back rocker seats and digital sound. They like to have their clients step back into time when they come to the theatre, and get a feel of what it was like to go to the movies in the 50's. The lobby is welcoming with a mod décor and some nice couches to sit on. The biggest plus besides the obvious fun appeal? Shows before 6pm are only $2, and after 6pm $3. The draw back? They do not take credit cards, it is cash only. But they do offer an ATM on site. The shows have generally been out for a while when they get to the Riverview, but I find the price and atmosphere worth the wait.
