Twinkle Twinkle Fire Fly

John Davis
Twinkle twinkle fire fly; how your butt lights up the sky.
You come out at night to flash your light.
You hide away to sleep all day.
We chase you all around the yard but catching you is not that hard.
After you're caught you fly away, looking back and saying, "Not today."
Sometimes you're nice, sometimes you're not.
Because sometimes you're willing to be caught.
The night is almost over and we must go.
But we turn back to watch you glow.
When the season ends we all think, "Bummer."
But we aren't sad for long because we'll see you next Summer.

Thank you for the wonderful poem! Fire flies are one of my favorite insects. They also bring back some of the best summer memories.
