During this season lights and lighted decorations are not hard to find, but nobody knows how good they are until they are at home trying to set them up. Finding that burned out bulb that is causing the whole string to be out can be troublesome and time consuming. I usually get frustrated and end up tossing the whole thing in the trash. This is why I took the time to find lights that will stay lit even if one or even a couple decide to go out for whatever reason. Also, everything I have listed is for indoor/outdoor use unless otherwise noted.
Target sells a beautiful Twinkle Snowflake Lighted Wire Decoration. The snowflake is a moderately large size at 15.6'' with 150 clear lights. This sells for $14.99 but is currently on sale for $11.99.
Also at Target, LED Snowflakes String Lights in white and blue. Using LED instead of standard bulb decorations can save energy up to 88% and they also have 20 times the lifespan. Retails for $19.99 but you can pick them up for $15.99.
Head on over to the Walmart website and you will find the Gemmy Musical Lights Christmas Trees. At $185 the price is a little high but the trees are 4 ft, 5 ft and 7.5 feet tall. They play 5 songs including Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells. With energy efficient LED lights they have 10 lighting effects and are lit with a variety of colored lights. They are for outdoorsand each tree has it's own control box. These are online only but are free to ship to your local Walmart store with their site to store program.
Looking for something Heavy Duty? Northern Lights at AAFES carry heavy duty strings of lights in clear or multicolored. They can be set to blink or on steady. $19.99 gets you 200 lights.
Icicles are popular every year. Everglow brand at AAFES makes the Double Cicle. They are $21.99 and have 2 sets of lights on one strand. Change the speed to move from one color to the other. These come in a combination of blue and white or frosted and white. 300 lights come in this really pretty set.
Regardless of if you want your house to glow so much that you can see it from space, or if you just like a simple strand or two; I hope some of the research I have done helps you in your design for this season. Happy Holidays!
